Transfer Application Requirements:

  • Your completed application
  • Official Transcripts from all colleges or universities you attended and/or from which you’ve received credit, including your current institution. Please have them sent by the issuing institution directly to the Admissions Office. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for review purposes but we will need official versions prior to the start of the semester. We want to know about your courses in progress as well.
  • Official high school transcript or a copy of GED report.
  • SAT and/or ACT scores, only if high school graduation was less than one year ago.

Once we have all your application information, we'll review your transcripts and show you a preliminary list of all remaining course requirements for the degree.
Students who have attended a two-year college may transfer up to 70 credits and must complete at least 50 credits at St. Thomas. Up to 90 credits may be transferred from four year institutions and then at least 30 credits must be taken at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Transfer students are admitted to the College in both September and January, and while there is no deadline, applications should be submitted as early as possible.

Transfer Scholarships
Transfers can receive up to $11,000 in academic or merit scholarships. Applicants will be notified if they are eligible for a scholarship at the time they are accepted. Half-Tuition Scholarship Program for PTK Members

Transfer Articulation Agreements with Community Colleges
St. Thomas continually seeks out partnerships with Community Colleges to enable our transfer students to get the most credits they deserve. We'll let you know exactly where you stand with regard to your transferring credits, before you need to make a decision to enroll. The following institutions in the area have entered into transfer agreements with St. Thomas Aquinas College: SUNY Rockland, SUNY Orange, SUNY Dutchess, SUNY Hudson Valley, and SUNY Nassau Community Colleges; CUNY Queensborough Community College; and Bergen Community College in New Jersey. Each articulation agreement is different, but they all benefit the student who is transferring from the community college into St. Thomas Aquinas College.
The College has amended its transfer policy in many cases as a result of these relationships. In education for example, the college now accepts American Sign Language credits if taken at another college as fulfillment of the foreign language requirement at St. Thomas. Students who have up to six (6) credits in ASL will be able to transfer those credi

Life Experience Credit
The College may award academic credit to students who have achieved the objectives of specific courses outside of traditional classroom instruction and who satisfactorily validate that achievement through the submission of a portfolio conforming to specified criteria. Applicants must be matriculated in a degree program at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Credit for Life Experience may be awarded as follows:

  • A maximum of 30 Life Experience credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree.

There are fees to be paid for life experience credits, but they are substantially less than per credit fees. For more information, contact the Office of Academic Advisement.

CLEP Credit
The College awards up to 30 credits for CLEP (College Level Examination Program). Appropriate credit is awarded to transfer students based on successful scores on general and/or specific subject exams.
